加纳首都和最大港市。在国境东南部，濒几内亚湾。非洲最靠近0°经线和0°纬线的大城市。人口100万（1987）。全国政治、经济、文化中心。重要的可可豆、金刚石市场。公路四通八达。建有本国唯一国际航空港科托卡机场。因拍岸浪障碍，货物装卸主要利用东27公里处的外港特马。著名的旅游中心。有列贡大学、科学院、博物馆、植物园等。
