圣约翰是安提瓜与巴布达的首都港口。位于安提瓜岛西北海岸，中央低地北部，濒临大西洋，在安提瓜岛西北岸小海湾畔，与圣约翰以外的各行政区相邻。人口44.890（2001）。深水港，主要输出食糖和棉花，进口食品、机械、硬木等。有进口元件组装以及炼油、制糖、纺织、冷藏等小型企业。渔业基地。旅游业甚盛。城东北10公里有国际机场。
