It was the smell that first lured us into the bakery! The staff were exceptional; very friendly and efficient! There's a good selection of different baked goods. I had been excited to find a 'real' French croissant but such a let down with the taste. On viewing all the croissants, they looked flaky but the texture was not quite right. Without being pretentious, a croissant needs to be made with French flour. Our Canadian flour is great for baking but not for croissants. Sadly, the 'real' croissant taste and texture was missing.
The French Bakery was a wonderful surprise on a cool west coast afternoon.
