Gorgeous facade detail rendered in stone caught out attention to begin with. It provides a lovely introduction to the gallery contents. It was interesting to learn that the gallery was founded with a bequest from Welton Stanford, the younger brother of Leland, the university's founder. We enjoyed moving amongst the art works and seeing some striking creations.
