The country is really beautiful and people there are very friendly. Although it's a very poor country, it's very clean everywhere. Except the two large cities-Colombo and Kandy, other places are all like towns 30 years ago in China. All the hotels we chose are four star ones or above. You can get everything in the hotel, and in the evening, you'd better stay in the hotel as well. There aren't many lights on the road, no stores, no bars, no wonderful views in the evening...

It took about 6h to fly from Shanghai to Colombo, capital of Sri lanka.

Arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in the evening. Then we went to the hotel and had a rest.

It took us 4 hours by coach to the National Park and then 1.5h by a jeep to finally meet several wild elephants. It's very cool for me to stand on the seats of a jeep. Luckily we met some elephants. Some travelers with  bad luck may see nothing and even be trapped in the mud. Took hundreds of pictures and videos that day, but almost lost them all. 

In the morning, we visited the Sigiria Lion Rock. In the ancient times, it was a super huge rock which looked like a giant lion. But now, it's just a rock. The park is quite beautiful, with fresh air, blue sky and numerous trees. However, to be frank, as a mountain or a rock, it's not that amazing in my eyes. There are only 20 ancient wall paintings left in the mountain, but no one is allowed to take pictures of them. And all the ancient palace or buildings on and in the mountain.

After lunch, we went to Kandy. It is the second largest city in Sri Lanka. We visited the city center, the temple of tooth relic and watched a traditional Sri Lanka show.

I also lost of pictures of this day. Sad story. 

The hotel we lived in is along a  mountainside. It's called Hotel Topaz. We saw quite beautiful views in the morning.

The air is so fresh. I love it.

We stayed in the five-star hotel for two days. It's by the ocean, but people are not allowed to swim in the ocean because it's too dangerous. 

We went back to Colombo by a little train. The train drives along the seaside. The view is quite beautiful. But inside the train, it's awful. From the second stop, numerous local people got on the train. It's really crowded, even more crowded than a local bus. There's no aircon on the train with doors and windows opened. I don't dare to take pictures with most of my body outside of the train.  

I think the best choice may be walking near the rail, waiting for the train, instead of taking the train. 

My mum just recovered from fever after a two-day rest, but she became quite unwell after taking the train, like car sick. We don't like the food there at all, but at least I can survive with toast and butter. But my mum only ate fruits for a few days. She didn't have enough energy at all. 

We decided to go back home earlier than planned.

In the afternoon, we visited several famous buildings in Colombo and did some shopping in a shopping center.

Then we went to the airport and took the return trip.
