Not sure why all the low ratings for all of the L&L chains other than that it's not an independent restaurant. Usually, I too try to stay away from the national chain of business and try to support the local independent business when I can. But when it comes to Hawaiian bbq, there is really nothing exotic in the way to cook the food. I've tried many, and L&L seemed to have that...

Many branches throughout Hawaii and the Mainland (California, at least). Barbecue,etc. Reasonably priced and they stay open later than many Kona restaurants

This is the worse service I've ever had. Waited in line forever just to be acknowledge, got my order wrong, and the food wasn't fresh and tasted like cardboard.

good to eat where the locals eat. They know the best prices and items to order. very good especially if you like to try something unusual.
