When I walked in it seems like I was interrupting a family lunch, had to introduce myself before getting a hello. Coffee machine needed to be cleaned. Maybe I'll have to give it another chance.
The gals and one boy that work at Lewin Street are like what you find in Melbourne. Cool, calm, no attitude, and can actually have a conversation that is interesting. The toasties are at a level of addiction, the coffee is of a standard of that few others can offer in Brisbane. Well Scout is also one. In summary, wish I could be at Lewin every day of the week!
Very surprised by some of the negative reviews. I have been going to the Lewin st store cafe since it opened and again when it reopened after some renovations and I have always a) had great coffee/food and b) been welcomed with a warm smile and greeting. What a great spot this is. Brisbane needs more of them. Beautiful little old shop front which has been converted to a friendly suburban cafe. If you're after good coffee, this is the place to go.
