It took a minute for seafood to land in Shaw, the waves have washed up a tasty outpost on Seventh, steps away from Metro and its called Eat the Rich. We came for drinks, then sat down for some food. The pitchers of cocktails are strong and good. The fried oysters are perfectly done- crispy exterior but not overdone on the inside. The real star though is the order or Parker house rolls that come with delicious maple butter.
This place has a very limited menu that is all about oysters, but judging by prices, it is not a place to go when you are hungry. On the other hand, the variety of raw Oysters and Clams were fresh, large and very tasty, served with meurier and a mild cocktail sauce. After 9:00PM, they have a special on one type of oysters.
The Virginia Barcat oysters were delicious and a happy hour bargain at $1. The hard working oyster shuckers at the front of the bar are great, too, and friendly! Great choices of local spirits, wine, and beer offerings at happy hour, but hands down one of the worst bartenders I've ever encountered, anywhere.
