Tried to have a coffee here. Got some absolutely terrible filth. Sent it back and got another one. Still the same filth. Informed the waitress, who told us in no uncertain terms that it must be our own doing. Left the coffee without drinking it. Still had to pay.

It was raining and our mood was not good when we went into De Witte Ballons, but when we left, we felt a whole lot better! The atmosphere was lively, and the service friendly and very efficient. Great location with outdoor seating (heated in wintertime) on a quaint street at the front, and overlooking the canal at the back. Nice for cocktails and apps, but when we returned for dinner we were not impressed with the average food.
