Went for breakfast. Service took ages, when food arrived only half the order had been remembered. We were actually glad I'm the end as the food was poor. Croissant was dry and we left sharpish. Only positive was the coffee.

This is a very popular and busy cafe yards from the exit of the Bastille Metro. It is an excellent spot for watching the world go by over a drink, hot or cold, and has a good range of cafe style food. It also has a claim to fame as the first "Philo Cafe" in Paris. A traditional Paris cafe with friendly staff and a good range of snacks and meals at very reasonable prices. We stopped by for a beer and an omelette and were very satisfied with the overall experience. The omelettes were cooked just perfectly (using 4 eggs) and came with a nice salad accompaniment. A very good place for a drink or a quick snack/lunch.
