We came to the place on a Sunday evening when most other restaurants had already closed. The restaurant is inside a cinema complex and has therefore longer opening hours. The waiter neglected us for some time, despite the restaurant was almost empty, which gave us time to study the menue in detail. Many vatieties of Palatschinken (i.e. pan cakes) are offered: sweet, salty, ... ...
Palatschinken Insel is not the typical fast food place in a food court. That is exactly what appeals me in it. It is in essence a Hungarian restaurant serving mainly asweet and salty variations of palacsinta. (French crepe, German Palatschinken etc). My favorite is the Hortobagy palacsinta. The filling is of minced meet, and all is covered with a delicious sauice of sour creame...
The kids enjoy palatschinken and after school kids are Hungary. We waited for 12 minutes and no one came, three tables were occupied at the time we were there. The waiter reply was no speak your language please talk in German. Donau zentrum and international public. We left and went to other place.
Palatschinken Insel is an eating option in the food court of Dunao Centrum. But luckilly it is not a fast food place. For those who do not want hamburgers or fried chicken it is an excellent alternative. Hungarian crepes (Palacsinta) are a a smart food which can be more than just sweet desserts.
