Reliably good brews and generous food portions if you can be bothered dealing with the slow young women at the till. The playground here keeps bringing us back.

Have been going to the Muffin Break in Wigram for a while, but no more. The service has been JUST acceptable in the past but today's experience was shocking. With at least 20 tables ...there were 6 not cleared and 4 with people at them. bought a nice gladwrap (clingfilm) wrapped lemon slice. Asked for a trim regular cappuccino in a cup. No cups, takeaway cup alright but not my preference. Coffee was anaemic, among the worst I have had in Christchurch over the last 3 years. Asked for a coffee card -- hadnt been offered one, and was given one stamp. Asked for an extra stamp as hadnt been served my preference and...

The coffee is good and the food is sized generously. There are so many options of sweet cakes and muffins that you could have something different every day for a month. The excellent children's playground here makes it one of our favourites.

Smaller off-cuts of slices at the counter ... but $2 is a bit steep!

They do great toasted sandwiches too, just ask.
