After a trip up to Mt Hier we tried to go to Sunnys/Plant Lab, then to Tosca but both were closed. On our way back toward the river a short block from Tosca was Sujatas. The host/chef made us feel at home. We all had something different and loved it. I had the cashew curry, my son the Japanese plate, and my wife had the ramen. We all had the Turkish sweets for dessert.
This is my lifeline when I visit Kyoto as I more or less eat my lunch here. Great ambience with pleasant music in the background. Great food at cheap prices. Each day there is a Japanese meal and 3 or 4 standard Indian curries. I recommend the Japanese food as you get to know how delicious Japanese vegan food can be, especially when you are visiting from abroad. I would definit...
If I could I would probably eat here everyday. The vegetarian food is healthy and delicious. The lady running the place is kind and attentive, uses organic ingredients as much as she can and likes to give the place a peaceful and warm atmosphere by playing indian-like relaxing music. Besides the highly recommended Japanese set meal, she serves also curries and other delicacies....
I am staying in Kyoto for a month and found this little humble plesant place that serves Indian dishes that are superb for around 1000yen.This food is soul food because it is done with so much love and care by the lady who owns the place.The chesnut curry is my favorite.The place is a few steps from Chion-ji temple.My nbr#1 place in Kyoto.
