I'm going to bring my wife here next time we're in London. Stumbled on this low key French café / restaurant. Gave it a go, I was so pleased. I love places with a short menu. The specials were two starters and five mains. I had the fish pie, with two glasses of chablis (2 'cause it was good), followed by tarte tatin and coffee. When finding this cafe and entering, I felt "wow", this is beautiful. Very pleasant with a real sense of authenticity. However, we experienced very poor service from the waitress, resulting in me having to walk through to the front counter to chase up our food, and finding she had fogotten all about it. This small, family-run French restaurant is perfect in every way. The menu offers dishes that look simple on the page, and then you taste them, and oh, my . . .This is not your fancy, expensive French cuisine. It is instead, I think, the French version of the best kind of home cooking. And the prices are reasonable! Heaven.
