I would recommend this simple osteria as one of the best places to eat in Rome. It was recommended by the owner of our B & B (l'angolo cortese - also great please book here) a slice of a local Italian neighbourhood with great food to match. Traditional and simple cuisine, full of locals. Very busy with takeaway pizzas but that just shows the locals love it. Great experience all...
If you want to eat in an osteria, this place reminds me of places I used to eat 30 years ago. Small and simple, friendly and busy with locals. It's not as cheap as these places used to be, but at around 40 euro for three courses including a bottle of Cannonau, you can't complain either. And all good traditional fare. But you are only going to like this place if you are prepared...
Found this restaurant on Tripadviser, while staying in the quiet Laurentina district of Rome. It has a lovely little garden, lit by lanterns, and we ate here three times. Worth noting that's not open on a Sunday
