Cannot say enough about this place! Love it and Ruth behind the counter is a lovely polite woman! Don't think I could be in the area and not go in!

You have to give this place a try but do check the date you are going if you want some eels.The setting is simplistic but that should not detract from the experience. Your first decision is how many pies you can eat , how much mash you want and how much green sauce do you require. 2 each and plenty of the sauce was our choice and that was about right. This used to be so good. Ruth and her son Bill who run it are lovely people and i hate to leave a bad review but overtime i visit the shop the food gets worse. I always chose Cockney's over Cookes but I'm now travelling to Camden Town for pie & mash which is a shame. Im hoping this review helps raise the standards back to how they used to be.
